Bajaj Hints at Multi-Engine Dual-Sport Motorcycle Lineup for Latin America & India

Bajaj dual-sport motorcycle

Tech Desk: Bajaj is set to revolutionize the Latin American and Indian motorcycle markets with a new line-up of dual-sport motorcycles, potentially featuring multiple engine sizes. Executive Director Waldyr Ferreira’s recent hint to Brazilian media suggests a diversified approach, moving beyond a single model to cater to a broader demographic. The first bike is anticipated to hit Latin American roads by late 2026, marking a significant strategic expansion for the brand.

This aggressive move aims to challenge established players like Honda and Yamaha in Brazil, where their NXR 160, Sahara 300, Crosser 150, and Lander 250 models currently dominate the dual-sport segment. By offering options from entry-level off-roaders to long-distance tourers, Bajaj plans to leverage its extensive range of existing 150-250cc air/oil-cooled and 200-400cc liquid-cooled motors, or even introduce entirely new powertrains specifically designed for these models.

While specific details remain under wraps, previous sightings indicate a robust 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel setup, hinting at serious off-road capabilities. For India, speculation points to an initial 200cc Bajaj dual-sport motorcycle model, poised to rival popular choices such as the Hero Xpulse 210, Kawasaki KLX 230, and the new Honda XR300L. This multi-model strategy underscores Bajaj’s ambition to capture significant market share across various price points and performance segments in key emerging markets.
