UAE Launches World’s First 10G Internet Network, Ushering in a New Era with U6GHz Spectrum

10G internet network

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has made history by launching the world’s first commercial 10G internet network, leveraging the advanced U6GHz spectrum. This groundbreaking initiative marks a significant leap forward in digital connectivity, promising unparalleled speeds and paving the way for future technological advancements. The U6GHz spectrum, operating in the 6425-7125 MHz range, is lauded as a ‘golden band’ for its ability to deliver both extensive coverage and high-speed performance simultaneously.

This revolutionary 10G internet network boasts impressive download speeds of up to 10 Gbps and upload speeds of up to 1 Gbps. This means users can download large files in seconds, stream ultra-HD content without buffering, and experience significantly reduced latency in real-time applications like online gaming and virtual reality. The low latency is particularly crucial for emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing, and advanced virtual and augmented reality experiences.

The development followed the UAE’s decision in 2024 to permit U6GHz spectrum for mobile services, with extensive testing in 2025 demonstrating remarkable speed capabilities. The commercial rollout, facilitated by global telecom giants and local operators, positions the UAE as a leader in next-generation internet infrastructure. This advancement is set to support the growth of smart cities, autonomous systems, and is seen as a crucial step towards the realization of 6G technology.
