The Indian Army showcased the formidable combat prowess of its Boeing AH-64E Apache attack helicopters during the recent ‘Brahmastra’ live firing exercise at the Pokhran Firing Range. In a display of precision warfare, the Indian Army AH-64E Apache units executed devastating strikes using AGM-114 Hellfire missiles, rockets, and onboard gun systems against designated targets in a simulated battlefield.

This exercise underscored the operational readiness and seamless coordination between pilots and ground support crews. The AH-64E Apache is a globally recognized multi-role combat helicopter, boasting a 30 mm chain gun, Hellfire anti-tank missiles, Hydra rockets, and advanced targeting systems including Longbow radar and night-vision sensors, enabling all-weather and night operations. Colonel Vikrant Sharma highlighted that the drill focused on intensive simulator training, mission planning, and target engagement, proving the accuracy and combat capacity of the pilots.

He emphasized that the induction of the Indian Army AH-64E Apache, alongside indigenous platforms like LCH Prachand and ALH Rudra, has significantly amplified the Army’s combat capabilities. Lieutenant Colonel Kshitiz Goel, an Apache pilot, attributed the exercise’s success to comprehensive training and meticulous maintenance, confirming the helicopter’s reliability and the crew’s proficiency.
