Hyundai Earth Concept Revealed: Previewing Future EVs for China

Hyundai Earth Concept

Hyundai has officially unveiled the Hyundai Earth Concept in China, offering a glimpse into the future direction of its Ioniq all-electric brand for the Chinese market. This family SUV prototype, designed to embody “the vitality and biological balance of our home planet,” boasts a rugged aesthetic with a boxy, upright silhouette, clean surfaces, and a distinctive thin light strip across the front. The profile features a smooth, single-curve roofline and flared wheel arches, enhancing its robust appearance.

Inside, the Hyundai Earth Concept offers a spacious four-seat configuration with innovative ‘air-hug’ seats and nature-inspired ambient lighting that mimics tree shadows. The minimalist dashboard and wide-opening doors prioritize accessibility and a clutter-free experience. Notably, Hyundai also announced a new China-specific naming strategy for future Ioniq models, which will feature planet-based names.

While production plans for the Hyundai Earth Concept remain unclear and it’s developed specifically for China, it signifies a significant design reset for Hyundai’s EV strategy in the region. More details are expected at Auto China 2026.
