Jio Safety Shield: Reliance Jio Launches New Parental Control to Secure Kids’ Phones

Jio Safety Shield

Reliance Jio is addressing a major concern for parents with its new Jio Safety Shield, a pioneering feature designed to protect children using JioBharat and JioPhones. As kids increasingly navigate the digital world at younger ages, parents face growing anxieties over unknown calls, unwanted app usage, and tracking their child’s whereabouts. Jio’s innovative solution offers comprehensive control directly from the parent’s smartphone. At its core, Jio Safety Shield transforms a child’s phone into a secure fortress. It allows parents to whitelist approved contacts, ensuring children only receive calls from and make calls to known numbers.

This eliminates the risk of interaction with strangers. Furthermore, the feature provides a distraction-free learning environment by enabling parents to control app access, blocking unwanted applications during study hours or important tasks. Parents can also monitor their child’s safety in real-time with advanced location tracking and history. This offers peace of mind by showing where a child is, who they are with, and their movements throughout the day. Accessible via the JioThings App on any Android or iOS device, the Jio Safety Shield pairs seamlessly with compatible JioBharat V3, V4, A1, B2, and JioPhone Prima 2 models, which start from just ₹799.

This feature activates automatically via an OTA update upon phone activation, provided the battery is above 80%. Reliance Jio emphasizes that while children may not perceive risks, parents certainly do. Jio Safety Shield offers a much-needed layer of digital security, not just for kids but also for elderly family members, bringing immense relief to modern households.
