IRCTC Unveils Faster, Cleaner Redesigned Website Beta for Ticket Booking

IRCTC redesigned website

Tech Desk: Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has launched the beta version of its much-anticipated redesigned website, promising a significantly faster, cleaner, and more user-friendly experience for millions of passengers. The new portal, which went live recently, aims to simplify the often-complex process of booking train tickets, addressing long-standing user grievances.

Key improvements in the IRCTC redesigned website include a drastic reduction in captchas, making the booking flow smoother and less frustrating. Users will now enjoy visible seat availability across all classes directly on the search results, eliminating the need for multiple clicks. Furthermore, the ability to save passenger details for quicker repeat bookings is a welcome addition, streamlining transactions for frequent travelers.

This modernization initiative stems from a broader effort to enhance India’s online railway ticketing system, with suggestions from students of Malaviya National Institute of Technology influencing the changes. The existing IRCTC platform, established in 2002, handles an impressive 14.5 lakh bookings daily. The Ministry of Railways has emphasized that user feedback during this trial phase will be crucial in refining the platform before its final, full-scale rollout, ensuring a truly optimized service for all.
