The Bigger Picture: TKM and NISE Join Hands

The drive was symbolic of a major development in India’s renewable energy sector. Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Institute of Solar Energy (NISE). As part of this pilot project, which aligns with the National Green Hydrogen Mission, Toyota has handed over the Mirai to NISE.

The objective is clear and practical: to stress-test this technology on Indian soil. The team at NISE will evaluate how this Hydrogen Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle (FCEV) performs under local climatic conditions—from the scorching Indian summer to the diverse terrain of our roads.

Speaking on the occasion, Pralhad Joshi remarked, “This is a significant stride towards our clean energy goals. Harnessing the power of Hydrogen will not only declutter our environment but also redefine mobility in India.”

Meet the Machine: The Toyota Mirai
