Tech Desk: Nissan has unveiled the Pixo EV, an A-segment electric vehicle specifically engineered for urban drivers across Europe. Set to debut in early 2027, this compact yet feature-rich EV promises to redefine city mobility with its blend of innovative technology and practical design. A standout feature is its ‘first-in-segment’ integration of Google Gemini, offering advanced AI capabilities in 16 languages, alongside a comprehensive Google built-in suite.

The Pixo’s distinctive “robot face” front bumper and pixel-inspired lighting give it a unique aesthetic, while its cube-inspired proportions are optimized for European city streets. Measuring just 3,796mm long, it boasts a tight 9.9-meter turning circle, ensuring nimble navigation. Inside, the modern cabin comfortably seats four adults, complemented by a vertically stacked dashboard featuring a 10-inch touchscreen and a 7-inch digital driver’s display. Practicality is enhanced by sliding rear seats and a generous 356-litre boot capacity.

Under the hood, the Pixo is powered by an 82hp electric motor paired with a 27.5kWh lithium iron phosphate battery, delivering a respectable 259km WLTP range. Fast charging capabilities allow for a 15-80 percent top-up in just 28 minutes at 50kW DC stations, with bi-directional AC charging also supported. Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), including adaptive cruise control and Hands-Free Parking, further elevate the driving experience.
