Tech Desk: A significant pre-launch surprise has emerged as a video of the upcoming Tata Aeris iCNG variant has been leaked on social media, showcasing a showroom-ready model just ahead of its official September 25, 2026 debut. This Tigor successor, also expected in petrol and EV guises, was caught being driven off a trailer, confirming many design speculations.

The leaked footage reveals the Tata Aeris carries strong design cues from its siblings, the Tiago and Tigor. Up front, it features a black bar across the grille and sweptback headlamps, similar to the Tiago, but adds a new bumper with distinctive C-shaped corners. The rear sports Tiago-inspired tail-lamps, a shark-fin antenna, and a sculpted boot lid reminiscent of the Tigor, complete with an ‘iCNG’ tag and unique C-shaped bumper reflectors.

Inside, the Aeris iCNG boasts a modern two-tone interior theme with free-standing digital displays, mirroring elements from the Tiago. Features visible include powered ORVMs, steering-mounted controls, manual AC, and multiple storage options. Safety is also a priority, with expectations of 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, and Isofix anchors across variants.

Under the hood, the Tata Aeris is likely to inherit the Tigor’s proven 1.2-litre naturally aspirated engine. This unit delivers 86hp and 113Nm in its petrol form, paired with either a 5-speed manual or AMT. The iCNG variant is expected to offer comparable output figures of 76hp and 97Nm, providing a reliable and fuel-efficient option for buyers.
