Tech Desk: Xiaomi is shaking up the electric vehicle market once again with the launch of its innovative Xiaomi SkyNomad Series, expanding beyond the SU7 sedan and YU7 SUV. Unveiled to redefine family travel, this intelligent, large-space SUV introduces the groundbreaking Kunlun platform, purpose-built for an unprecedented reconfigurable cabin. Imagine an interior that fluidly transforms for commuting, camping, work, or family adventures – that’s the promise of SkyNomad.

The series arrives in two variants: the seven-seat N90 Max, priced at CNY 299,900 (approx. Rs. 42.41 lakh), and the five-seat all-wheel-drive N70 Max, starting at CNY 259,900 (approx. Rs. 36.75 lakh) in China. Both boast a flat-floor cabin, extensive storage, and luxurious features like up to four zero-gravity seats with massage and ventilation. Pre-orders are now live, offering priority production and exclusive perks.

Under the hood, the Kunlun HyperRange system offers battery options up to 76kWh, delivering impressive CLTC ranges of up to 505km (N70 Max) and 464km (N90 Max) on a single charge. Power comes from a robust dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup producing 310kW of peak power.

Technology reigns supreme inside, with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3-powered domain controller, dual 5G, Wi-Fi 7, and a six-screen infotainment system. The Hyper XiaoAi voice assistant can even reconfigure the cabin’s 11 layouts with a command. Coupled with a 700 TOPS assisted-driving platform and an 18-layer Armour Scale Battery, the Xiaomi SkyNomad Series sets a new benchmark for intelligent, safe, and versatile electric SUVs, though global availability is yet to be confirmed.
