Fitbit Air India Launch: Spotted Early in Stores Ahead of October Debut

Fitbit Air India launch

Tech Desk: Google’s highly anticipated Fitbit Air, the screenless fitness tracker, is already making waves in India, with units reportedly appearing in retail stores weeks ahead of its official October 2026 launch. This early sighting offers a tantalizing glimpse of the device in various color options, even as one retailer is allegedly selling it at a premium compared to its global price.

An X user’s shared images confirm the Fitbit Air in striking black, blue, and red shades—likely Obsidian, Lavender, and Cherry, mirroring its international release. While the Fog colorway was absent, the buzz is palpable. Intriguingly, one store is said to be retailing the device for around Rs. 16,000, significantly higher than its US launch price of $99.99 (roughly Rs. 9,400).

Google confirmed an India launch for October 2026, though specific dates and pricing remain under wraps. Showcased previously at the Made by Google India briefing, the Fitbit Air stands out with its compact, screenless “pebble” design, emphasizing distraction-free, passive health tracking. All detailed insights are accessed via the Google Health app on a connected smartphone.

This wearable packs a suite of health monitoring features, including 24/7 heart rate tracking, AFib alerts, blood oxygen (SpO2) tracking, and comprehensive sleep analysis. For fitness enthusiasts, it offers automatic workout detection and guided workouts through Google Health Coach. With an impressive battery life of up to a week on a single charge, the Fitbit Air aims to be a seamless, always-on health companion for Indian users.
