Move Over, Samsung! Motorola’s First ‘Book-Style’ Foldable Leaks Online with a Secret Weapon

Moto Razr

The foldable smartphone arena, long dominated by Samsung’s heavyweights, is about to get a lot more interesting. Motorola, the brand that successfully revived foldable nostalgia with its clamshell Razr series, is reportedly stepping into the big leagues.

Fresh leaks have surfaced revealing what appears to be Motorola’s first-ever “book-style” foldable phone—tentatively dubbed the Moto Razr Fold. If the renders shared by legendary tipster Evan Blass are anything to go by, this device isn’t just a clone; it’s a direct challenge to the Galaxy Z Fold dominance.

A Familiar Yet Fresh Design

At first glance, the device seems to take a leaf out of Samsung’s book. The cover screen is tall and narrow, reminiscent of the Galaxy Z Fold series, which makes it easy to hold one-handed. Unfold it, and you are greeted by a nearly square internal display.

While this boxy aspect ratio is a dream for multitasking and browsing the web in portrait mode, movie buffs might have to make peace with slightly thicker black bars (letterboxing) during video playback. The rear design borrows heavily from the premium Motorola Edge series, featuring a distinct “squircle” camera island housing three lenses and a flash.

Dressed to Kill

Motorola seems to be playing with textures to scream “premium.” The leaked renders show a Black variant sporting a rugged carbon-fiber finish, perfect for those who prefer a sporty, industrial look. On the flip side, the White variant appears to feature a chic faux-leather back, adding a touch of elegance and grip.

One intriguing detail spotted by eagle-eyed fans is an extra button on the left edge. In an era where Artificial Intelligence is everything, could this be a dedicated One-Tap AI key? We will have to wait and see.

The Ace Up Its Sleeve: The Stylus

Here is where Motorola might just steal the show. While competitors like Samsung are slimming down their foldables at the cost of stylus integration, Motorola is doubling down on productivity.

The leaks suggest the device will support the Moto Pen Ultra, a stylus that looks as stylish as the phone itself. Rumour has it that the pen will come in a stunning Pantone ‘Cloud Dancer’ shade. For creators, note-takers, and business professionals, this inclusion could be the deciding factor that sways them away from the Pixel Fold or the Galaxy Z Fold.

While an official launch date remains a mystery, these leaks have certainly set the Indian tech community abuzz. Motorola has proven it can make excellent flip phones; now, it remains to be seen if they can replicate that magic in the larger foldable category.

Is Motorola finally ready to dethrone the foldable kings? If this leak is real, the battle for your pocket is about to get fierce!
