These topics command a staggering 52% engagement from Indian viewers. Lifestyle and fitness content follow closely, drawing in 42% of users, while comedy (39%), sports (38%), and travel (37%) also rank high on the popularity charts.

The study underscores Reels’ growing influence, noting that it delivers nearly 60% higher creator engagement compared to other surveyed short-form video platforms. Beyond entertainment, Reels is significantly shaping consumer behavior. The platform is a powerhouse for product discovery, driving 81% of initial interest, influencing 66% of brand consideration, and impacting nearly half (47%) of final purchase decisions. This impact is even more pronounced among Gen Z users, with 84% discovering new products and brands via Meta platforms.

The data highlights a nationwide video boom, with daily engagement standing at 97% across urban and rural India. This suggests a uniform consumption pattern where rural audiences are increasingly mirroring urban trends on Reels, making it a crucial touchpoint for brands.
