Ultraviolette X-47 Venom Launched: Lighter, Longer Range, New Platform Unveiled

Ultraviolette X-47 Venom

Tech Desk: Bengaluru-based Ultraviolette Automotive has just launched its groundbreaking Ultraviolette X-47 Venom, marking the debut of the brand’s all-new VX-100 platform. This electric motorcycle promises significant upgrades, primarily focusing on weight reduction and enhanced range, alongside a host of new features. Introductory prices start at Rs 2.65 lakh for the 7.5kWh variant, going up to Rs 4.12 lakh for the top-tier 11kWh model (ex-showroom, Bengaluru).

The Ultraviolette X-47 Venom is remarkably lighter, shedding up to 17kg from its predecessor thanks to the innovative VX-100 platform. This weight reduction directly translates to an improved claimed range, now reaching 343km for the top variant and 227km for the base model. The new platform also refines the battery, motor, and controller, making them lighter and more efficient, allowing for sustained high performance and improved regenerative braking.

While peak power and torque figures remain largely consistent, the weight savings contribute to quicker acceleration, with the 0-100kph sprint now 2.2 seconds faster at 5.9 seconds. Riders will also appreciate new features like cruise control, camera-powered parking assistance, and a larger 7-inch TFT display, though some are limited to higher variants. Standard safety features like dual-channel ABS and traction control continue to be offered.

Bookings for the Ultraviolette X-47 Venom are now open, with deliveries slated to begin in November. Potential buyers should note that the attractive introductory pricing is limited to the first 5,000 customers, after which prices will increase by Rs 35,000 across all variants. This next-generation electric motorcycle is set to redefine performance and efficiency in its segment.
