Mahindra XUV 3XO CNG Spied: First Look Reveals Key Details Ahead of October 2026 Debut

Mahindra XUV 3XO CNG

Tech Desk: The highly anticipated Mahindra XUV 3XO CNG has been spotted undergoing road tests, offering a crucial first glimpse just ahead of its official debut on October 15, 2026. This sighting confirms Mahindra’s entry into the competitive CNG sub-compact SUV segment, currently dominated by the Maruti Suzuki Brezza and Tata Nexon. This new variant aims to give buyers more fuel-efficient options in a popular segment.

The test mule, almost entirely undisguised, was seen sporting a clear ‘CNG’ sticker on its rear windscreen, the primary differentiator from its petrol counterparts. Beyond this, it shares familiar design cues with the non-CNG XUV 3XO, including the distinctive ‘XUV 3XO’ branding, roof rails, a sporty rear spoiler, connected tail-lamps, and a robust black bumper featuring a silver skid plate and static reflectors. These elements maintain the XUV 3XO’s established visual identity.

Under the hood, Mahindra is likely to equip the Mahindra XUV 3XO CNG with the lower-powered 1.2-litre turbo-petrol MPFI engine, producing 111hp and 200Nm of torque, a strategic move to keep costs competitive for a mass-market CNG offering. While transmission options and CNG tank placement remain under wraps, the non-CNG petrol variants offer 6-speed manual and automatic gearboxes. This upcoming model will significantly expand the XUV 3XO lineup, which already includes petrol, diesel, and fully electric options, providing a comprehensive range for diverse customer needs.

Expected to command a slight premium over its petrol siblings, the Mahindra XUV 3XO CNG will directly challenge established rivals in the burgeoning CNG SUV market. For reference, the petrol XUV 3XO is priced between Rs 7.79 lakh and Rs 15.04 lakh (ex-showroom). With its official launch drawing closer, more details regarding its precise pricing, variants, and specific features are keenly awaited by consumers and industry watchers alike. This launch marks a strategic move for Mahindra in a rapidly evolving market.
