This launch marks Nissan’s return to a crucial market after the Kicks was discontinued in 2023. Essentially a badge-engineered version of the popular Renault Duster, the Tekton aims to carve its niche with distinct styling and a competitive feature set.

While sharing its robust underpinnings and powertrain options with the Duster, including 1.0-litre turbo-petrol and 1.3-litre direct-injection turbo-petrol engines, the Tekton promises a fresh aesthetic. Its exterior takes bold cues from Nissan’s flagship Patrol SUV, featuring LED headlamps, connected DRLs, and a wide grille, offering a visual departure from its Renault counterpart, especially at the front and rear. Alloy wheels will also boast a unique design.

Inside, the Tekton is expected to offer a cabin layout distinct from the Duster, though it will likely mirror its impressive feature list. Buyers can anticipate a 10.1-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a panoramic sunroof, and advanced safety equipment like a 360-degree camera and Level 2 ADAS.

Positioned to compete fiercely, the Nissan Tekton is expected to be priced similarly to the Duster, ranging from Rs 10.49 lakh to Rs 18.49 lakh.
