Ambani’s Bold Vision: Reliance Jio AI to Power Every Indian Call, App, and Home

Reliance Jio AI

Tech Desk: Mukesh Ambani is propelling Reliance Industries to the forefront of India’s artificial intelligence race, with ambitious plans to integrate AI into virtually every aspect of daily life. At its recent shareholder meeting, the conglomerate unveiled a suite of innovative AI services designed to make India a global leader in AI, not merely a consumer.

Central to this push is Jio Call Agent, an AI assistant set to transform phone calls for Jio’s 500 million+ users. Launching later this year, it will transcribe conversations, summarize calls, and even perform tasks like booking cabs or ordering food, all activated by a simple “Hey Jio.” By embedding this service directly into its telecom network, Reliance aims to make AI assistance a native feature, bypassing the need for third-party apps and securing a significant distribution advantage.

Further expanding its AI ecosystem, Reliance introduced an AI-powered MyJio app for natural-language requests and TeleFrame, an ambient home display offering proactive information. These initiatives, along with the previously launched Reliance Intelligence, signify a massive $110 billion investment in AI infrastructure, supported by partnerships with tech giants like Google, Meta, and Nvidia.

This strategic pivot also includes specialized AI solutions for healthcare, education, agriculture, and small businesses, branded JioHealthIQ, JioLearnIQ, JioKrishiIQ, and AI Vyapar, all tailored for India’s diverse linguistic landscape. As Jio Platforms gears up for its anticipated IPO, the aggressive expansion into Reliance Jio AI positions the conglomerate for future growth, aiming to reduce India’s dependency on foreign AI models and foster domestic innovation.
