Hyundai TVS E3W concept

Hyundai and TVS Motor Company have officially greenlit the development and production of their innovative E3W concept, a significant step towards revolutionizing last-mile mobility in India. Following an exclusive report from Autocar India in January 2025, the two automotive giants have formalized their partnership with a Joint Development Agreement (JDA). This collaboration leverages Hyundai’s design prowess and TVS’s extensive EV platform and deep market knowledge.

The E3W concept, first unveiled at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, is designed as a purpose-built solution for India’s unique transportation needs. Hyundai will spearhead the vehicle’s design, focusing on an affordable yet functional micro-mobility solution. TVS, a veteran in three-wheeler engineering, will provide the robust EV platform and take charge of manufacturing and domestic sales, with provisions for future exports. Both companies are committed to a high level of localization, sourcing major components locally to bolster India’s manufacturing ecosystem.

Anticipated to feature enhancements like independent rear suspension, adaptable ground clearance, and digital displays, the E3W aims to offer significant improvements over traditional three-wheelers. This partnership signifies a strategic push by both Hyundai and TVS into India’s rapidly growing electric three-wheeler segment, promising a blend of global expertise and local relevance for the production-ready E3W.
