Dassault Deepens India Manufacturing Footprint, Targets Full Rafale MRFA Production

Dassault India Manufacturing

Tech Desk: Dassault Aviation is significantly expanding its industrial presence in India, moving beyond component manufacturing to target full aircraft assembly and flight testing for the Indian Air Force’s massive 114 Multi-Role Fighter Aircraft (MRFA) project. This aggressive push solidifies India’s role as a critical global hub for the French aerospace giant, driven by the ‘Make in India’ initiative.

The latest financial report reveals deep integration of Indian firms into Dassault’s global supply chains, spanning both military Rafale jets and civilian Falcon business jets. Joint ventures like Dassault Reliance Aerospace Limited (DRAL) in Nagpur are now central to Falcon production, continually enhancing their technical capabilities.

Crucially, Dassault has entrusted Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL) in Hyderabad as a secondary global supplier for Rafale fuselages – a significant vote of confidence in India’s advanced aerospace sector. Further partnerships with Dynamatic Technologies for Falcon 6X rear fuselages and Hical Technologies for Rafale flight control components underscore this growing reliance on Indian engineering for high-value defense production.

This strategic move is meticulously designed to meet New Delhi’s stringent demands for deep technology transfers and localized supply chains. With the Rafale Marine order for the Indian Navy already confirmed, Dassault’s ambition to secure the MRFA tender by offering end-to-end industrial solutions on Indian soil marks a transformative phase, positioning India as a premier manufacturing powerhouse within the global aviation network.
