Tech Desk: In a breathtaking display of aviation excellence, India’s IAF Sarang Helicopter Team recently captivated audiences by flying a four-helicopter formation of ALH Dhruv over the iconic Giza Pyramids. This spectacular aerial show not only highlighted India’s formidable flying prowess but also beautifully merged with Egypt’s timeless heritage, symbolizing the enduring bonds of friendship between the two nations.

The precision and discipline showcased by the Sarang team, flying the indigenously designed and manufactured Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) Dhruv, garnered significant attention. The Indian Air Force underscored on X that this event reflected “Indian aviation excellence” set against one of the world’s most historic backdrops.

The team’s presence in Egypt was part of their participation in the second edition of the El Alamein International Airshow, held from September 8 to 10. Known as the world’s only five-helicopter display team, Sarang is celebrated for its demanding formation maneuvers and synchronized aerial sequences, demonstrating exceptional skill.

Air Marshal Yalla Umesh, AOC-in-C, Maintenance Command, visited the team, acknowledging their role in representing India on a global stage. This significant engagement further strengthens defence and diplomatic ties between India and Egypt, proudly showcasing the advanced capabilities of India’s indigenous aerospace industry to an international audience.
