Tech Desk: CMF, the budget-focused brand from Nothing, has just unveiled its inaugural lineup of wireless speakers, boasting a design that’s anything but conventional. Dubbed the CMF Speaker S and CMF Speaker M, these portable audio devices immediately stand out, playfully resembling “musical milk cartons” while offering impressive customization options, including 3D-printable panels and knobs. This launch marks a bold entry into the competitive portable speaker market, blending affordability with a truly unique aesthetic.

The series includes two distinct models. The compact CMF Speaker S, priced at $59, features a 45mm full-range driver complemented by two passive radiators for enhanced bass. For those seeking a richer audio experience, the larger CMF Speaker M, available for $109, steps up with a dedicated 10W tweeter and a powerful 25W woofer, promising superior sound separation and deeper bass. Both are available in vibrant white, dark gray, orange, and turquoise finishes.

Perhaps their most innovative feature is the extensive customizability. Users can effortlessly swap out the front panel and multifunction knob with alternate colors or entirely new designs. CMF plans to release official design files, empowering modders to 3D print their unique creations, pushing the boundaries of personal expression in tech gadgets.

Beyond aesthetics, these CMF wireless speakers deliver robust performance. Both models offer up to 18 hours of battery life and an IP68 water and dust resistance rating, making them ideal for any adventure. Connectivity is seamless with Bluetooth 6, NFC, Google Fast Pair, and Microsoft Swift Pair, alongside USB-C audio. Users can also pair two identical speakers for a stereo experience or synchronize multiple devices via Auracast for an expansive party mode.
