A Desi Foldable for the Indians! ‘Ai+ Nova Flip’ Set to Launch Under ₹40,000

Ai Nova Flip

Let’s face it: we all secretly want a foldable phone. There is something undeniably cool about flipping a phone shut after a call. But until now, brands like Samsung, Oppo, and Motorola have kept this luxury out of reach for most of us, with price tags that can make your wallet weep.

Well, get ready for a plot twist. A homegrown Indian company is about to disrupt the market with the country’s most affordable flip-style foldable phone. Meet the Ai+ Nova Flip—a device that promises the foldable experience for under ₹40,000!

The “Desi” Tech Revolution

The brand behind this ambitious project is Ai+, which is backed by NxtQuantum. If the company name sounds new, the brains behind it certainly aren’t. Industry veteran and former Realme India CEO, Madhav Sheth, is associated with the company. After dipping their toes in the water with two budget phones in 2025, they are now swinging for the fences with this premium-yet-affordable foldable.

What to Expect from the Nova Flip?

The Ai+ Nova Flip will feature a classic clamshell design—think of it as a modern, smarter version of the flip phones from the early 2000s.

  • Design: It sports a folding main screen on the inside with a punch-hole Selfie camera. On the outside, there is a handy little cover display for checking notifications on the go, sitting right next to a dual rear camera setup.
  • The OS Advantage: Perhaps the most intriguing part is the software. The phone will run on NxtQuantum OS, a fully indigenous operating system. The company promises zero bloatware (goodbye, annoying pre-installed apps!) and guarantees that users will have 100% control over their personal data.

When Can You Buy It?

You won’t have to wait too long. The phone is scheduled to hit the Indian market within the first three months of 2026.

While we are still waiting on the nitty-gritty details like the processor, RAM, and battery size, one thing is clear: if Ai+ can pull this off, the Nova Flip won’t just be a new phone; it will be a massive wake-up call to the big tech giants. A foldable under 40k? That’s a deal many Indians have been waiting for!
