Instagram Now Lets You Feature Tagged Photos Directly on Your Profile Grid

Instagram tagged photos to profile grid

Tech Desk: Instagram has rolled out a significant update, now allowing users to feature tagged photos directly on their main profile grid. This highly anticipated feature empowers users to curate a more comprehensive and personalized visual story, moving beyond just their own uploads. No longer confined to the ‘Tagged’ tab, favorite group shots, creator collaborations, or cherished memories can now take pride of place alongside your own posts, offering unprecedented control over your digital presence.

Adding these tagged posts to your grid is straightforward, with several convenient methods. You can select the “Add to grid” option directly from a DM notification when you’re tagged in a photo. Alternatively, access the three-dot menu on the upper right portion of any tagged post, or simply press and hold a post within your ‘Tagged’ tab to reveal the option. Instagram emphasizes that privacy remains paramount; the visibility of these featured posts will always respect both your account’s and the original poster’s privacy settings.

Should your aesthetic evolve, removing a tagged post from your grid is simple and doesn’t delete the original content. While new additions appear in reverse-chronological order by default, Instagram’s existing profile reordering feature, introduced last June, allows for complete customization. This means you can arrange your entire grid—including these newly featured tagged photos—to perfectly match your desired aesthetic and narrative, further enhancing your unique online identity. This flexibility puts more creative control in the hands of users, allowing them to truly craft their online identity.
